Life as an entrepreneur is fast paced. There is always something that needs to be completed, shared, created, discussed and more.
Somewhere in the midst of all of this activity and passion we may forget about the joy.
It’s just hard to move forward sometime.
Being of service can bring joy and reduce stress.
Yes, it is more work, at least it has been for me; but the joy and the fullness of the experience makes it all worthwhile, and allows me to rediscover my true gifts.
BE Your Gift
Being of service to others is being of service to yourself.
Have you ever received a gift so beautifully wrapped that you did not want to open it, tear the paper or cut the ribbon?
You spend extra time reviewing it, wondering what’s inside and how you can gently open it.
As time passes, you can’t take it and carefully open it to discover the secret inside. At that moment it is not really about what is inside (well, most of the time 😆 ), but the thought, beauty and effort behind it makes it worth a million bucks.
The gift inside is the icing on the cake and everyone involved is pleased. The best part about the gift inside this box is that it is you.
That extraordinary package is the definition of what you are offering, and the gift inside is the deliverance of what you promised – your service – you.
YOU are the gift to the world, your family, your clients, your business and most importantly to yourself.
Our unique gifts don’t always have to be dressed up like everyone else. We have to appreciate ourselves and let go of what others think, expect and say that does not serve us.
BE in Alignment
No matter who you are or what you do..we each need balance. Our uniqueness, our authenticity is what ultimately drives our delivery of service to others.
- Is it real or not, is it truth or not?
- Is it a benefit or a detriment?
- Are you being of service for the right reasons?
When we are in alignment, we are balanced – which enhances our ability to truly be of service to our own needs…THEN we can be of service to others.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying being service is all about you, because it is not. It’s giving others the best part of you which brings the joy.
What I am saying…….don’t forget about you.
WE can get caught up fulfilling others needs, providing the top quality service that is us, giving of ourselves so wholeheartedly and deeply that we forget that we have needs too….balance.
Your Gifts Are Unique
When we are of service to ourselves and feel good about what we bring to the table, it becomes infectious.
More people want to:
- Be near you
- Work with you
- Listen to you – not just hear you
When we are smiling (even when we are feeling pain), and you look at someone or offer something to someone, it spreads to them, who in turn will spread it to someone else.
A few weeks ago in the spiritual center I attend, the speaker suggested that we spread love.
He suggested that we intentionally focus on the love we share with others in those moments our initial thought is anger and negativity; for example – road rage.
Instead of reacting, smile and think love even though you want to share a few not so kind words…make the effort and think love.
I took what he said to heart.
As I walked through a mall later that day, and made an attempt to interact with a few people who were not friendly at all, my initial thought was not kind. I remembered what he suggested, so I shifted my thought intentionally.
I thought I love you anyway and hope you have a better day…I actually felt better at the end of the day.
He said to tell yourself you are love…and give it.
I spoke to my daughter when I made it home and based on what she was facing the next day, that situation could turn out ugly.
I know my baby can be pretty emotional, and I did not want her to end up depressed if the result was not what she needed.
That evening as I was going to sleep, I thought about the speaker and all that he shared. I meditated and focused on sending positive energy to my baby that all would work out better than expected.
I share with her all the time to think positive and expect positive results, and to remember during the darkest moments that she is not alone; find the light through the darkness.
I was selfish in thought as well. I needed her to be good so that I could be good. I needed this positive energy more now than ever.
I focused on love, love and more love until I fell asleep.
The next morning my baby called, woke me up with such great news I cried with joy. Not only was the result a positive one, it WAS better than originally thought.
We all have choices. How we choose plays a significant part in our energy and the energy of others.
What positive choices have you made recently that had a direct impact on someone in your circle?
We are all connected and if being of service is taking care of my inner truth, then why not spread that to others in my circle – consistently.
As the speaker shared with us, I will share with you…make an effort – be of service to yourself…shift your energy so that others see it and feel it.
Don’t keep it to yourself.
Who says you only drink wine from a wine glass?
Drink your smoothie in a wine glass in the morning…I bet it makes you feel better about your choices – or at least another fun way to enjoy a healthy drink!
