Some people are very new to the idea of a virtual assistant. They cannot imagine having an employee who is not in the same office with them, while others can see the immense benefit of having a Virtual Assistant or VA.
There is another idea about VA’s that people do not understand. There are virtual assistants who specialize in certain areas. You may need a virtual assistant to do general office tasks or you may need to work with one who specializes.
Sales: There are VA’s who have been sales trained and can close the sale or bring the sales process from the leads that you give them.
Publicity: There are VA’s who have been trained on how to write press releases and pitch you and your topics. They know the rules of publicity and can help you make your name a household name.
Website expert: There are VA’s that can ghost write your blog and update your website as you need it.
Social Marketing Experts: There are VA’s who can post on your social sites for you, make connections and promote you via your own social marketing networks. They usually will have expertise in Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook as a start and can easily adapt for any special social networking sites you may use.
Executive Virtual Assistants: They specialize in people who have a high profile, meaning people who are famous or on the verge of being famous. They can also be hybrid, meaning they can be depended upon to interface with people in person and keep your reputation spotless. I use an Executive Virtual Assistant who is well liked by every client or fan that comes in contact with her. She knows how to deal with people and is very good at carrying that load.
Data Entry: Some VA’s work especially efficiently on inputting your data as needed. If your business gets a lot of information that needs to be input with accuracy, you will want to hire this type.
Concierge Services: There are some VA’s that can meet some personal as well as business needs. They are often hybrids offering services like vacation planning, house sitting and running errands such as personal shopping for birthdays, or even be a personal driver.
Real Estate support: You must hire a VA with experience in this area; otherwise you will spend all your time training.
Legal and Paralegal Support: requires people with specific training also.
My goal is to provide a better understanding of how to work with a Virtual Assistant in a way that benefits your business.
