It’s about halfway through the Ultimate Blog Challenge. I must admit I was “afraid” to commit to something like this. When the first challenge was announced…I thought about it, saw a reminder, thought about it…and just said to myself nope you can’t do that. No time…
Then when I saw some of the feedback people were posting on Facebook, I thought about it again and signed up to be included for the next one.
Another thing I must admit, I did not slow down enough to open up-step out and truly think about the various actions, reactions, efforts involved in this type of challenge. I read an excellent post today that truly discusses the benefits…I am here now and I feel like my mind has truly opened up!
OMG :)…this is soo much fun, challenging, but it’s fun because it is forcing me to think about blogging like never before. Not to say I did not work hard at it before, I tried to get on a consistent schedule, but I would let distractions get in the way. I see that now.
I had not realized or even pondered about the “community” of people who would be involved, and how much I needed to support them too. I enjoy reading their post and commenting. I try to get to as many as time permits.
Don’t misunderstand, this does take time BUT it is well worth it. I absolutely thrive off of challenges. Stepping out of the box provides an opportunity for growth. How often do we stay in a space that is comfortable and fight change? What will it take to truly step out? How important is it?
Being involved in a challenge such as this does require a commitment and it forces one to manage time. It’s a commitment to opening up, stepping out of the box, and sharing more than the norm and/or discovering how and what to share daily.
I still make sure I have a few moments of chill – not many…but after reading my new blogger friends post about the flow of my day…it just confirmed that taking care of self is important too!
YES!!, I have more comments and more post that are being shared. YES!!!, I have more traffic, and more subscribers. I have even lost a few subscribers too…but we can’t please everyone. The benefits are there.
MOST importantly – I am planning, writing, learning, growing, opening my mind, and part of a brand new community of people who I never knew..how cool is that! I am grateful and will be looking into additional challenges such as this in the future. It feels great that now I have taken yet another step for growth and inspiration.
How easy is it for you to step out of the box? What does it take for you to say yes, I will try that?
