Is your video disappearing on WordPress?
Saturdays are a great day to catch up and read. I read a recent blog post from one of my favorite sites and there was a video I wanted to embed.
I have embedded videos several times, no problem, copy the code, open the page, paste the code, it looks great. Or use a plug in, copy a link, center it, and click publish. Great…
Today, I followed those steps, BOTH…The video disappears when I publish.
I try it again. The plugin I have worked before, after all it worked for my video on my main page.
Use the plugin, add the link…I see it, update…video is gone. I probably spent 30-45 minutes trying different things and it kept disappearing. I added another plugin, same result.
I am baffled. This is the same plug-in working with the video on my main page. Let me look and make sure it’s still there….It’s gone. Wooooo sahhhh
I consider myself pretty skilled with WordPress, maybe it’s the theme. I get a little bored and have changed it a few times, hmmmm.
I decided to search the forums. I found a recent discussion, that was simple. It made too much sense…Use the old code. Don’t use the iframe code that many, if not all of the video sites are using now.
The plugin I have makes it possible to use the iframe code from YouTube, it worked before…hmmm.
I remembered there was a recent upgrade to WordPress and that is probably what may have caused the problem. I did not look or find anything that says that, but it made sense to me.
I also found a discussion that provides a code you can utilize and fixes the issue. I have not tried it, but I may later. I can be dangerous at times and did not want to spend time on code..I took the easy route – use old codes option, and it’s workiiinngg!
Sometimes we just have to go back to the basics, the old code STILL works – of course!
I bet you went to look at your sites and see if your videos are still there. OR maybe, “I” am late and just finding out!!! ‘
If you have or had this issue and have a different solution…PLEASE share!
