Profiles on social networking sites are very important. They all should be optimized for optimum exposure.
I had a discussion the other day with a client that feels it is difficult to build connections on Linked In. I too have not spent as much time there as I would like, but one thing I do know there are many “like minded” individuals there.
I also like the way their groups are set up, it seems easier to participate and more opportunity to help others and be informative. I personally do not have as many connections there, but I kinda like it because it feels more manageable. I need to make more of an effort to build relationships on that site.
In my search of learning more about Linked In, I found a really great informative video which inspired me, it is great advice from Kathleen Gage.
The video teaches about optimizing our profiles so that we show up in the first pages of Linked In when people are utilizing their keywords to find people related to their niche, or services they are seeking assistance from.
I really believe some of these suggestions can be utilized for other websites as well, at least it will generate re-vamping and focus on a critical piece of social networking.
Let me know what you think and what are some of your issues are with social networking.
