It’s not always easy to be motivated….I TRY everyday to wake up with a purpose, energized and ready to take on the world and expect nothing but the best! BUT – reality is – that is not always the case.
Yes, everyday I AM grateful…YES, everyday I think positive….YES, everyday I try to accomplish something….
I will speak with friends online or quickly over the phone and often they will say “I see what you are posting, and you help me when I needed it most” or they thank me for being an inspiration. I tell them often I post things to help myself too…
I struggled yesterday and thought I needed to remind myself of the steps I can do to motivate myself.
I thought I would share a few things that I do when I am NOT feeling very motivated, or not feeling very positive…this is truly personal for I am no expert…this is just what works for me…
If you can relate…share your comments at the bottom of this post…I need the inspiration from YOU too!!!
The numbers don’t represent that these steps have to be done in this order…start wherever it works best for you.
1. Exercise…Ok, If you know me, you know I am not the most fit, most disciplined, BUT…I move pretty good for 53 and a healthy girl. Could I move better…yes, working on being more consistent. BUT…the one thing that gives me energy, makes me feel good about me…Exercise. I have a walking DVD that has 3 options walking 1 mile, 3 miles, and 5 miles…I mean you will feel it in the end. (Note: I am not an early morning girl and it’s too hot by the time I get up to go outside…so this is my alternative) It is more like low impact aerobics…but I promise you, it will help boost energy. FYI – I just quit smoking 2 days ago as a birthday present to myself so I know that will help me with my exercise energy too….I am on the journey to better health! Walk with me!
2. Affirmations…..I found a GREAT site for affirmations….It’s FREE…and no matter how many times you shuffle, or pick…they ALL feel good….Try it…Right now it told me “My future is Glorious, I now live in limitless love, light, and joy. All is well in my world…WOW that feels great…What about yours?
3. Make it about YOU….I am a nurturer by nature…I am always thinking about others and what I can do to help them or wish I could do to help them. One of the things I love about my new relationship is that my new partner is always telling me to take care of me…to focus on me – I appreciate that greatly. My advice to you – I say to focus on you….You MUST take care of yourself…no one can do that for you…As I continue to work on that…other things that I need in my life begin to manifest…Feel good about taking care of you FIRST…
WE are ALL important to the balance in our lives….Comments are definitely welcome…let’s talk about it!
