Is it time to let go? As an entrepreneur I thoroughly understand the difficulty of letting go. We are passionate about our business and often have to control ALL that needs to take place. There is ALWAYS something to do and we want to ensure that each task is completed in the manner in which we want and need them to be. Dump that load!
It goes back to and begins with trust. It takes time to trust that those we provide the opportunity to support us will take our needs as seriously as we do. The first step is to take the time to learn those that you are teaming with.
- Are they professional?
- What is most important to them?
- Is it just bringing in income or do they actually care about your success as much as you do?
- How do you know they care?
- Will that person take extra steps to ensure my needs are met?
The next step will be to possibly speak with one of their current clients. Call or email the client.
How do YOU feel about the interaction with the possibly new team member? What does your gut say? What are you experiencing from speaking with the person? How are your interactions on Twitter of Facebook? I am a very strong believer of going with my gut as I feel the energy that I receive from that conversation / the experience really will determine if we can work together or not.
Most importantly – are YOU prepared to dump the load? Determine the cost of you doing everything. Plan your steps of transitioning the work. We cannot do everything and create income at the same time. Those non-revenue tasks are really costing us vs. helping us. Determine what you charge your clients – the time you could be spending with a new client is actually costing you more by not dumping your load. Take a leap of faith, do your homework…be patient…the positive energy will flow and the answers will come.
