If you have been hanging out with me and reading my blog from time to time, you know I love what I do…When a new client decides to hire me, we are really hiring each other and THAT is what I love most…building partnerships through exploring and really “experiencing the essence of who we are“.
I read a post recently that spoke about the fact that your intentions don’t really matter to your clients but more the experience is what really matters. For example, how the store is layed out, how detailed the invoice may be…what matters most is the experience of YOU.
Hmmmmmm, I pondered on that a moment. I thought about how important it is in retaining and gaining referrals from your clients that they experience you.
A client I have worked with for the past 4 years shared recently what she liked most about working with me was the finesse that I brought to her projects. She would provide a document or a brief description of what she wanted. I would take that thought and turn it into more than what she expected.
We often discuss her plans and goals for her business and she seeks my feedback. Wow, I love that..how honored can one be when another seeks your advice!! (business or personal) That is a true testament and compliment to experiencing the essence and knowledge of who I am.
How do we do that virtually?
Our clients have to gain trust through the services we provide, the consultations/discussions we have.
We have to be available for conversation. I don’t set hours for being available to speak live…I try to always answer whenever they call me regardless of what I am working on after all I enjoy spending time with them and I WILL get the work done…
We have to be open and aware of the goals and future intentions of our partners businesses. Our clients have to know our goals as well to help us achieve success too! After all, don’t you want your VA to STAY in business too!
It takes time to:
- build trust
- experience and learn each other
- learn what makes each of us tick
There is something special that happens with any business, and those that support that business, when everyone is on the same page and really experiencing each other. It can only lead to success for all involved. If your experience with those you are partnering with to grow and build your business is not working…don’t force it…you can always find someone else that thrives from experiencing you! You are definitely worth experiencing, right?
